Accountability Report

A Visual Framework for Vidhi’s Healthcare Regulation Reports

In collaboration with the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, we undertook the end-to-end design of a three-part report series exploring the regulatory landscape of healthcare accountability in India. Titled "Holding Healthcare Providers Accountable", the series covers facility regulation, oversight of practitioners via medical councils, and legal mechanisms through consumer and criminal courts. Our role spanned publication design, data visualization, and visual systems development for the entire series. The goal was to distill complex regulatory frameworks into accessible, structured narratives — combining clarity, precision, and a coherent design language across all three reports. From typesetting detailed legal analysis to crafting intuitive charts and infographics, each element was tailored to communicate clearly to policy audiences, legal experts, and the general public alike.

Data-Driven Storytelling with Purpose and Precision

Beyond publication design, we developed a consistent visual identity for the series' data visualizations — ensuring that statistics, regulatory flows, and comparative insights were intuitive and engaging. Whether highlighting disparities in regulatory reach or comparing disciplinary outcomes across states, each visualization was designed to enhance reader understanding without oversimplifying the subject matter. The result is a body of work that reflects both the intellectual depth of Vidhi’s research and the importance of accessible design in public policy discourse. These reports not only inform but invite reflection, serving as a reference point for stakeholders shaping India’s healthcare regulatory environment.
