Ranbhoomi Kurukshetra is a strategic board game based on the epic Mahabharatha, awarded the DNA Paris Design Award 2024.
Art directed, developed, and designed every tangible item of the game while establishing branding for the ‘Ranbhoomi Series’. The focus was to move away from mundane realism towards a graphical treatment while still reflecting Indian culture. All visuals, especially the weapons, are backed by solid research, tracing both textual and visual references on the subject as extensively as possible.

From concept to completion, Studio Bandwagon led the art direction, branding, and product design for every component—crafting a rich, immersive experience that honors Indian culture while stepping beyond conventional realism.
The game’s visual identity embraces a bold graphic language, with each weapon and symbol deeply researched and interpreted from classical texts and iconography. This project marked the beginning of the larger Ranbhoomi Series, where myth, gameplay, and design converge to create artifacts of both play and cultural preservation.
